House of Cards – Season Three Ponderings

As President Richard III and his First Lady Macbeth conclude their third Netflix Original Series, I’m moved to ponder a few things.  Partly I feel a bit queasy, having eaten too much House of Cards too quickly.  This is the danger with the Netflix Original Series that arrives all at once.   A very few years ago, a thirteen episode series took thirteen weeks to watch.  It took a quarter of a year.  Now, with those thirteen episodes all neatly delivered to your in-tray in one go, the temptation to scoff them all immediately becomes almost impossible to resist.  Fear of spoilers, fear of tweets, fear of pub conversations lead to an overarching fear of being “left behind”.  Now I’m very full of House of Cards, and I’ve nearly a whole year to wait for more.
